Substitutions

  • Honey - If you're looking for a vegan option, you can use maple syrup or agave nectar instead of honey. For those on a keto diet, try using keto sweeteners like stevia or erythritol.
  • Ice Cubes - If you don’t have ice cubes, you can use frozen watermelon cubes. Just freeze the cubed watermelon on a baking sheet in a single layer, then transfer them to an airtight container.
  • Mint Leaves - If you’re not a fan of mint, fresh basil leaves can be a great substitute, giving your slushie a unique twist.

Variations

  • Strawberry Watermelon Slushie - Add a handful of strawberries to the blender for a delicious strawberry watermelon slushie.
  • Coconut Water - Replace the ice cubes with frozen cubes of coconut water for a tropical twist.
